I’m Nicola, an experienced performance coach and sports specialist

My passion for sport, health and fitness began from a very young age. From learning to swim in the ocean at the age of four, to currently competing at elite level for GB age-group Aquathlon – I have developed my sporting knowledge from a range of experiences, competitions, education and employment.

I was very fortunate to have a loving and supportive childhood with inspirational parents who never pressured me to participate in something I didn’t enjoy. They simply encouraged me to pursue my own pathway, goals and achievements based on my happiness. This led to a successful route in a range of high level sporting achievements, key employment opportunities and an accumulation of valuable qualifications.

I will always be grateful for their approach to parenting as it taught me how to listen, empathise and encourage in the right way in order to support others in achieving their goals. I firmly believe that the best way to manage your life is to enjoy what you are doing and set yourself realistic and achievable targets.

As a result, I created Peak Fitness and Training to continue my passion for sport, health and fitness within my own company. I endeavour to support individuals in all areas of their performance needs and sports clubs in developing the future stars of tomorrow.

Sporting achievements

I have been fortunate enough to be part of some fantastic sports teams and events in the past. During my school years I was ‘sport mad’ and spent most mornings and evenings training with my swimming club alongside being part of county/national hockey, football, netball, rugby and cross country teams.

When I left school successfully with my GCSE’s, I went to study at East Norfolk Sixth Form College where I captained the ladies rugby team to the nationals. From this, I was scouted for U19 England Colleges Rugby squad. This was an experience I will never forget but sadly due to a lack of funding for the sport at the time, the season was short and the funding ended after college.

I began to take a shine to open water swimming, masters swimming events and individual sports. Alongside successful employment in sport, higher education studies and additional industry qualifications, I began swimming more seriously in open water and combining longer runs. I could never spend a month out of water from the moment I learnt to swim. As a result I entered my first UK Aquathlon and placed 1st.

From there I qualified for the British Triathlon GB Age group team, won my first bronze medal for GB in my age group at the European championships in Romania and am now continuing to qualify for each upcoming European\World championships.
